Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge Review

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

The start of a new year is a great time to shake up your make up routine so I decided to give Real Technique’s Miracle Complexion Sponge a go and I’ve made it my product of the week!

I’ve always been quite lazy at applying my foundation and have simply used my fingertips, mainly because I didn’t want the hassle of washing a brush. However, as this product promises high definition results and you don’t have to wash it every time you use it I found myself picking one up in Boots.

I love online make up tutorials so I visited real techniques.com where creator Sam tells you all her tips and tricks for using this innovative applicator. She describes how you use all the different angles on the brush for different parts of your face; so the flat edge is for blending around your nose, the tip is for covering imperfections and the sides are for your cheeks, forehead and chin and additionally for applying cream blush.

The egg shape fits perfectly into the palm of your hand and it’s even a pretty good stress reliever if you give it a squeeze ๐Ÿ˜‰ It’s handy for squashing into your makeup bag and this is an advantage over long brushes that would stick out. The texture of the sponge is sooo soft on your skin so people who suffer from sensitivity are in luck.

I prefer a natural luminous look for my makeup in the day and this is ideal for creating that effect as it doesn’t pick up too much product and leaves a dewy finish. In the evenings I like to add a mattifying, high coverage powder which this wouldn’t be suitable for.

The sponge retails for โ‚ฌ7.99/ ยฃ5.99 in Boots which is great value as I’m sure it wouldn’t need to be replaced any time soon. This is a welcome addition to my morning make up routine!
