L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Review

L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay

My new ‘Product Of The Week’ is L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay!

I’m seriously bad at making decisions (tea or coffee, boots or shoes, sandwich or panini) and when it comes to shampoo I’m normally forced to choose between one for greasy hair or one for dry hair.

Ta-dah – with this range you no longer need to decide!

Clay is the star ingredient and it’s responsible for cleansing, purifying and also moisturising. While roots are oil free the ends are also super shiny and soft. Hallelujah!

Are you ready for another revelation? Apparently we’ve also been washing our hair wrong. By using the clay-to-mask pre shampoo, sebum and impurities are absorbed and hair is light and ready to be lathered. It also means that your roots will be purified for 72 hours; less washing gets a big thumbs up from me. Who has time to be washing their hair every morning?

So that’s the science, what’s the verdict?

The clay needs to be massaged into dry hair and left for 5-10 minutes to get to work so for some this may seem like a whole lot of hassle; however it eliminates the need for shampooing twice and is far more effective. For such an innovative product you’d expect a high price tag however the great thing is that it only retails at €8.49

The L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay packaging is a gorgeous mint colour and the scent is lovely and fresh. I expected the clay masque to feel hard but it’s actually deliciously soft and spongy.

My hair was left really smooth and shiny and it actually looked like I’d applied both a shine spray and a serum because it was so sleek and reflective but the great thing is no styling product was needed. This also means that there was no heaviness or residue left behind. I was really impressed that I didn’t need to use any dry shampoo even on day 3 after my blow dry. I’m officially a clay convert!
