L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Dry Shampoo Review

L'Oreal Extraordinary Clay Dry Shampoo

L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Dry Shampoo is my new product of the week!

I previously reviewed the gorgeous shampoo and conditioner so my expectations were high for the clay-to-spray.While using the hair care range already gives you 72 hours between washes, the dry shampoo promises an extra day before the need for another blow dry.

3 purifying clays are responsible for absorbing any excess oil and L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Dry Shampoo can be used throughout the day or even before a big night if you’re looking for a boost in volume.

I’m typically in a rush when I want to freshen my hair and simply spritz, rub it in and brush it through, but on the bottle of L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Dry Shampoo it suggests you leave it for 2 minutes before brushing out lightly. This actually makes sense as you’re allowing the clays to get to work absorbing any oil.

Batiste is the number one dry shampoo on the market so the question is whether L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Dry Shampoo can compete or even beat it in a comparison test.

L'Oreal Extraordinary Clay Dry Shampoo

My test is in no way scientific I’m just using one on one side of my hair and one on the other and seeing which I prefer!

Scent: L’Oreal smells super clean and fresh – like walking into a hair salon. Batiste has a slightly musty, powdery smell (my version is a hint of colour ‘Beautiful Brunette however I know there are different scents available).

Application: With L’Oreal’s you spray, leave for 2 mins and brush out. With Batiste’s you spray, massage thoroughly then brush out.

Residue: I’m impressed with L’Oreal’s invisible finish while Batiste leaves a hint of colour.

Effect: Both dry shampoos definitely tick the box of refreshing your hair in that it no longer looks greasy. However, as someone who has a problem with getting any root lift I love the fact that with L’Oreal’s my roots have great volume. I would actually use it for this purpose even if my hair was clean. Unfortunately with Batiste’s my hair still feels a bit lank and lifeless.

Verdict: So, on the head to head (excuse the pun) L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Dry Shampoo comes out on top!
